I’m pleased to introduce my latest basket series called ‘In Metallics’.
This series has been born out of my desire to add a cheerful but subtle extension to my current repertoire of basketry work. To date I’ve been deep in love with bold brights and colours, but as the cooler months approach I’m finding myself drawn to the softer side of the spectrum.
‘In Metallics’ attempts to balance sparkle with simplicity. With the natural rope, I have combined cotton twine with gold and silver metallic twists. In the right light the baskets sparkle with delight.
It’s a fine line between elegance and over the top when it’s comes to sparkle, but I think my ‘In Metallics’ have achieved the right balance. There are both gold and silver options available in different sizes – baskets from this first series are now available exclusively on Country & Co.
