Experimenting with Rope

I think the man at my local Resource Recovery Centre officially thinks I’m mad…

I squealed in delight when I walked in to find a massive pile of rope lying discarded on the floor. It shone up at me like a big golden dream come true. There it lay wrapped and wound in all it’s glory, various colours of amber and fawn, various textures of rough and rougher, all waiting for it’s next chapter in life.

When my husband came home to find my new acquisition piled high on our kitchen floor, he burst out laughing and asked me what the hell I planned to tow with that, a 20 tonne boat perhaps?

This rope is super thick and hardy, and has no doubt served many practical purposes before stumbling into my life. Now I have plans for it to travel on a different journey with a more aesthetic purpose, perhaps in the form of a big and beautiful basket.

The experimenting will continue and I will keep you posted on it’s progress…
